Almost every adult living in America has ridden in, ridden on, drunk out of, stored their things in, eaten off of, been costumed in, mowed their lawn with, played on, lit the night with, viewed in a museum, cooled their room with, read about, printed with, sat on, placed a call with, enjoyed in a theater, hid their hooch in, collected, been awarded with, seen at a zoo, put their flowers in, hung on their wall, served punch from, delivered milk in, read something printed on, seen at the World’s Fair, detected enemy combatants with, written about, had an arm or leg replaced with, graduated from, protected by, or seen at the White House something created by Viktor Schreckengost (1906-).

Viktor's work is recognized widely but his name is known by few. The Viktor Schreckengost National Centennial Exhibition finally gives Viktor a place in the national spotlight. This spring, over a hundred exhibitions across the United States are showcasing Schreckengost works in celebration of his 100th birthday on June 26, 2006. America will find Viktor's work in a variety of venues, including art and ceramics museums; pedal car and bicycle collections; restaurants and libraries; historical societies and archives; military museums and a mounted police stable; parks and churches; public schools and private homes. The diversity of audiences reached by the National Centennial Exhibition illustrates Viktor's far-reaching impact into several industries and art communities, and pays tribute to the artist's creed that "good design should be available to everyone."

The Viktor Schreckengost National Centennial Celebration has been organized by The Viktor Schreckengost Foundation. 100 different venues will show Viktor Schreckengost art and design works between March 18 and June 26, 2006.
