Abstract

Viktor Schreckengost is both a prolific artist and a brilliant industrial designer. His work particularly with children’s toys succeeded in bringing enjoyment to the lives of millions of Americans. Vik is the creator of the most original and successful children’s pedal cars ever marketed and a series of beautiful bicycles. Dr. Waldman presents for the first time a survey of the range of Schreckengost’s legacy creating toys for children, drawing on his background as a psychologist, historian, antique dealer and art collector. Bikes and trikes, trucks and trains, wagons and pedal cars are discussed, together with a presentation of Schreckengost’s original concept designs. You may rediscover a cherished childhood memory here; you certainly will learn about some amazing and fun creations.
