State of Ohio Senate Recognizes Viktor Schreckengost

Senate passes Resolution, sends to the House, for Viktor Schreckengost Day, June 26, 2006

The Senate for the State of Ohio passed a resolution recently to name June 26, 2006 as Viktor Schreckengost Day. The resolution, sponsored by Senator Robert F. Spada, awaits passage by the House of Representatives when it resumes session. The State of Ohio has honored Viktor Schreckengost in the past. In 1995 he received the Governor’s Awards for the Arts in Ohio, Individual Artist category, awarded jointly by the Ohio Arts Council. The Governor's Awards for the Arts is a statewide program that showcases and celebrates Ohio artists, arts organizations, arts patrons and business support of the arts. Winners are selected in six categories - Arts Administration, Arts in Education, Arts Patron, Business Support of the Arts, Community Development, and Participation and Individual Artist.
