A brief chronology of Viktor Schreckengost's life.

Born 26 June 1906 in Sebring, Ohio. Father: Warren G. Shreckengost, potter. Mother: Ada Noulton Schreckengost. Brothers: Don and Paul, designers, potters; uncles, potters.

Education

1912-1920—Lincoln Elementary School, Sebring, Ohio

1920-1924—McKinley High School, Sebring, Ohio

1925-1929—Cleveland Institute of Art, diploma. Major in design, Julius Mihalik; minor in ceramics, R. Guy Cowan and Arthur Baggs; Henry G. Keller, Paul B. Travis, Frank Wilcox, drawing; Dr. Wyngate Todd, special classes in anatomy, Western Reserve University; Otto F. Ege, calligraphy.

1929-1930—Kunstgewerbeschule, Vienna. Postgraduate study, certificate of completion. Michael Powolny, ceramics; critiques from Josef Hoffmann (Wiener Werkbund) and Franz Cizek
