Educational Programs

by admin last modified 2005-04-19 12:35

As an educator, Viktor Schreckengost embodied what is known as a "master teacher." He knew what he taught and was able to inspire young students to achieve their maximum potential, both as artists and designers, and a sensitive, caring people.

If there is anything that his students learned, it was how to ask the right questions and how to come up with useful, well-designed solutions to the design problem. There was method to his casual, caring approach and his informal, yet probing questions.

The Viktor Schreckengost Foundation, through their network of former students and the Cleveland Institute of Art, is developing elementary and secondary school curriculum based on Viktor's teaching methods and industrial design principles. Also in the works is a special Viktor Schreckengost Academy, an intensive Summer program for aspiring artists and design students.
